This event was followed up with a workshop, which took place in Bratislava on 27 September 2006.

The Government of Belarus and the Energy Charter Secretariat held a workshop in Minsk in June 2005 to examine the role of the Energy Charter Treaty.

Recognising the fact that treaty-based investment arbitration is becoming increasingly important in international commerce, the Secretariat together with the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce have organised this workshop which focused on the role of ECT in investment arbitration.

The Energy Charter's Transit Protocol is an important ‘missing link' in the legal framework necessary to support an open and integrated Eurasian energy market. This was the conclusion of a Conference on "Energy Transit in Eurasia: Challenges and Perspectives" held in Brussels on 19-20 October 2004.
