In addition to the country reviews, the PEEREA Working Group prepares and publishes a number of thematic reports. These aim to facilitate and promote the incorporation of energy efficiency objectives and strategies into national policies. Recent examples include:
Market Trading Mechanisms for Delivering Energy Efficiency (2010): this study examines several countries' experience with White Certificates Schemes, identifies the key design features that affect performance, evaluates effectiveness and offers advice on how developed and transition economies might proceed with such schemes. The report also considers the use of White Certificates Schemes in conjunction with Renewable Energy Trading (Green Certificates) and Emissions Trading.
Policies that Work: Introducing Energy Efficiency Standards and Labels for Appliances and Equipment (2009): this report summarises the experience and benefits of energy efficiency standards and labels programmes around the world.
Energy Efficiency in the Public Sector (2008): this publication focuses on public sector energy efficiency at all levels of government for PEEREA member countries.
Policy Developments and Challenges in Delivering Energy Efficiency (2007): this report was presented to the 2007 Belgrade Ministerial Conference of the UNECE 'Environment for Europe' process.
Cogeneration and District Heating (2006): this publication looks at the best practices for municipalities in cogeneration and district heating.
Energy Efficiency and Emissions Trading (2006): this publication provides a PEEREA perspective on emissions trading, following the entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol and of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme.
