Energy Charter Conference

The 19th Meeting of the Energy Charter Conference in November 2008

The Energy Charter Conference, an inter-governmental organisation, is the governing and decision-making body for the Energy Charter process, and was established by the 1994 Energy Charter Treaty.

All states who have signed or acceded to the Treaty are members of the Conference, which meets on a regular basis to discuss issues affecting energy cooperation among the Treaty's signatories, to review the implementation of the provisions of the Energy Charter Treaty and the Protocol on Energy Efficiency and Related Environmental Aspects, and to consider possible new instruments and joint activities within the Energy Charter framework.

CONFERENCE CHAIRMAN

Since 7 April 2010, the Chairman of the Energy Charter Conference is H.E. Selim Kuneralp, Ambassador and Head of the Permanent Mission of Turkey to the World Trade Organisation.

CONFERENCE VICE-CHAIRMEN

Since 15 March 2013, the Vice-Chairmen of the Energy Charter Conferenceare Mr. Anatoly Yanovskiy, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation; Mr. Odd Sverre Haraldsen, Director General at the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy of Norway; and Mr. Jambulat Sarsenov, Deputy Chairman of the KAZENERGY Association, Kazakhstan.
